On our second visit to London, we stayed closer to the theatre district. It was interesting walking around, people watching and browsing in shops (everything seemed very expensive). We visited the National Gallery of London, being selective about which parts of the gallery of this huge gallery we visited. We also visited the Lego store again on Aiden’s request. That evening we headed out to Canden Lock an interesting and eclectic area of London with a vibrant street life.
The following day after school, we went to see Harry Potter and the Cursed Child a two part extravaganza at the Palace Theatre. We had booked tickets for this when we decided to return to London and were very grateful that we booked ahead. The show is excellent! It had amazing special effects. There were all sorts of spells cast on stage disappearing, cast members and flying dementors throughout the theater. The show is 5 hours, and it is split into two parts. During the dinner break we met Hugh, Rory, Polly and Becky for a lovely pizza dinner at a restaurant just a few minutes’ walk away from the theater, it was great to see them again.
The following morning, we got up early to take a bus tour that was supposed to take us between London and Bath with stops at Stonehenge and Windsor castle. Unfortunately, the tour was re-routed and went straight to Bath with the other stops planned for the way back to London. This was slightly disappointing, (I had been thrilled to figure out less expensive way to travel between the two cities with the bonus of seeing some sights we wanted to see. We did enjoy the city tour parts of the tour that told us more about Bath and London.
