We enjoyed visiting the ornate city of Dresden, situated on the Elbe River. Alastair refreshed my high school history as he shared the story of the fire bombing of Dresden during WWII. A bomb loaded with petroleum ensured a firestorm, leading to immense destruction and death tolls (estimated at 25,000) . It is amazing to see how the city has been rebuilt. We enjoyed touring the palace and exploring the central part of the city. Aiden will remember this special peach drink, we visit this restaurant twice at his insistence, it provided a wonderful view of Frauenkirche (“Church of Our Lady”).
