Bath our second visit

It was lovely to return to Bath England to see Marina and Donal again. I discovered that by booking a tour From London to Bath we would have the opportunity to stop at Stonehenge and Bristol on the way, costing less than the train! Unfortunately, the tour went the opposite direction on the day we decided to take it traveling from London directly to Bath with the other stops on the way back to London. Nonetheless we had an excellent tour guide, it was interesting and helpful to here him point out some sites in London that we had not seen, to provide more details on London’s history and to join his tour of Bath’s Old City. Donal picked us up from the centre of town and we had a lovely evening together. Again we really enjoyed feeling right at home, having a beautiful garden, loving dogs, and being able to use Marina’s kitchen and sharing beautiful meals with them. Their Pizza oven, a gift from the boys was a huge treat, Mariana’s famous Crunchy ice cream made another appearance, and we sampled the traditional Irish BBQ. Donal had set up his kids ping pong table remembering what fun his boys had had with it when they were growing up. The kids spent hours competing.  Sophie was able to do her final math exam and her health science exam with Donal supervising.

We enjoyed a day trip to Bristol City taking a Banksy walking tour and seeing tons of different street art. We met Donal and Connor for lunch.  Donal toured us around some of his favourite Bristol spots, including the old city and the pier. He then took us to see the SS Britania, a famous boat, now turned into  cool museum.  With him as our tour guide we learned so much more. We enjoyed lovely walks around Bath and really appreciated how welcome and at home we feel with our family.
