We had our final day in Morocco in Casablanca. Again, we enjoyed another tour, this time vising the Hassan II Grand Mosque, an iconic site of Casablanca. It was a wonderful experience to be able to go inside the Mosque and have a very animated tour guide share his passion. The beauty of the Mosque and the beauty of his faith. He repeatedly noted the difference between, religion and politics explaining the openness and love within Islam, repeating “God’s house welcoming everyone”. A couple from Egypt passionately elaborated on some of his teachings, they were clearly thrilled to be visiting the Mosque and deepened our appreciation of what we were seeing. Following out tour we visited the Casablanca coastline for lunch. It was strange to note two different McDonalds on the shoreline road in prime viewing positions. Given the poor weather and tired travellers, we did not explore the coastline in detail and decided to relax for the rest of our final day in Morocco.
